General[edit | edit source]
The Binary Torpedo Turret is the base version of the Binary Torpedo.
Strategy[edit | edit source]
Advantages[edit | edit source]
The Binary Torpedo Turret has nearly identical stats as that of the Nova Missile Turret, the main difference being that instead of splitting into sub-projectiles, this turret can pierce enemy ships, thus faring better when enemy ships are lined up front to back instead of horizontally.
Disadvantages[edit | edit source]
This turret has a much longer reload time than the Nova Missile Turret, so enemies need less effort to keep track and thus dodge its projectiles. Moreover, having a long reload time also improves the effectiveness of baiting it with cannon fodder such as squadrons or spawners before rushing in.
Similar to the Nova Missile Turret, it has the issue of the blind spot in the middle of its spread.
It deals less damage than the Atomic Driver Turret unless it manages to hit multiple enemies either with its AoE or Piercing.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Binary Torpedo Turret was first seen in Umbra Defense Lab targets during Retaliation before being released to players during Suppression, long after the other new-generation turrets were released.
