General[ | ]

The Caliber Driver Turret is the base equivalent of the Caliber Driver. Unlike the ship version, it fires 3 projectiles in a fan at once.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

The Caliber Driver Turret has excellent maximum range much like its predecessor the Atomic Driver Turret yet has shorter minimum range, enabling it to cover an even larger area.

Its piercing shots have even more damage output than the Rife Missile Turret and are especially effective against ships with spawners as the drivers can hit the spawned ships and go on to hit the parent ship behind them without losing any damage output.

To defend your base against Tier 9 ships, Phased Munitions is highly recommended as it can greatly increase the damage you deal through their shields, even if you are unable to keep their shields depleted.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Although this weapon also has an AoE like the Rife Missile Turret, it is much smaller and cannot be boosted. As a result, it is rather unlikely the AoE can hit more than one ship.

Moreover, it is by default slightly slower than the Rife Missile Turret unless boosted by Iridium Arrays.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The projectiles visually become more potent as the weapon increases by level: level I fires tiny rounds with a trail, level II fires large rounds without a trail, while level III fires large rounds with a trail.
  • The XP of this item was dramatically increased in the early August 2021 update as part of an effort to rebalance bases.
