General[ | ]

The Bombardment Torpedo Turret is the base counterpart of the Bombardment Torpedo.

It fires a quick volley of high-explosive torpedoes in a small spread like the ship version.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Bombardment Torpedo Turrets have sufficient range to fire at destroyers, forcing snipers to either dodge them or use a decoy. They have a small minimum range that enables them to fight rush fleets such as cutters even when they get close.

Bombardment Torpedo Turrets have large AoE that can be further increased by Antimatter Warheads or its variants, dealing damage to multiple ships that are close together.

This weapon has a high rate of fire, excellent for defending against squadrons.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Bombardment Torpedo Turrets are quite slow-moving and often miss their mark at long ranges. They are also significantly less mass-efficient than Twinfire Beam Turrets and hence perform worse against a single target.

This weapon does not have sufficient range to protect adjacent modules from sniper attacks, therefore Eclipse Driver Turrets or other long-ranged weapons should be used to provide better coverage.

The Xeno version is resisted by A.X.I.S. Hulls while the Void version is resisted by Marauder Hulls and NPC Targets. You are recommended to mix them together to achieve a balance against the various fleets that may attack your base.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The number of shots per volley differs by level: 2, 2, 3, 3.
  • The Heavy Bombardment Torpedo Turret accidentally appeared in the Alien Strike event store in place of the ship version prior to its release but was quickly changed.
  • The level I-IV versions were first available in The Markets rather than an event store, unlike other A.X.I.S. Technologies.
