The Hydra Missile is a reliable Explosive weapon that homes in towards its targets, commonly used in a player's first dedicated auto-farming fleet.

It fires missiles with orange curved trails, which then split and converge on their target, emitting a quiet whistling noise.

Strategy and Setup[]

Hydra Missiles have decent range and excellent accuracy, making them useful in many situations.

When boosted with AM Warheads, they can easily damage clusters of ships at once, due to the fact that the missiles detonate in the center of the target's hitbox rather than at the edge.

While Hydra Missiles do have a minimum range, it is so small that enemies rarely manage to hide inside it, unless the weapon is equipped on range-boosting ships such as battleships and destroyers.

Hydra Missiles lack the range to be an effective kiting weapon, since they can be outranged by even Thermal Beams when equipped with Focused Optics V.

They are also not that mass efficient especially at higher levels, limiting the damage a ship equipped with this weapon can do.

  • Since the Hydra Missile has no spread, any special increasing it like Sweep Launcher will not do anything.
  • After porting from Flash to Unity, the Hydra Missile has a new firing graphic and sound effect.
