The Shockwave Shell is a ship shield that is highly resistant to Explosive Damage, but takes increased damage from other sources. It can only be used on Altairian Hulls.

Note that its Counter Pierce ability is useless upon losing shields.

Strategy and Setup[]

Like the Spectral Shell, Shockwave Shells have excellent shield energy and mass efficiency, even greater than that of the Harmonic Exophase Shield.

Spectral Shells are a direct counter to the Sai Missile, being able to resist Explosive Damage as well as their Piercing effect.

Shockwave Shells are unable to recharge unlike the Blast Shield, meaning that the maximum shield energy is somewhat limited.

Shockwave Shells have negative resistance to other damage types, making them vulnerable against non-Explosive damage, especially Alien and Plasma damage, which are extremely common in Alien Event Targets.

  • Hulls with active Shockwave Shells glow orange, similar to the Shockwave Shield.
  • The Shockwave Shell was granted immunity to Explosive Nebula Fields in the late April 2019 update.
  • Shockwave Shell has received immunity to Alien and Plasma Nebula Fields in the early November 2019 update.
  • Its repair time was nullified as a result of the late September 2020 update, which updated the repair time of all Tier 7 ships to be invariant to equipment.
