General[ | ]

The Spectre Squadron is an advanced Kinetic squadron with increased shield bypass.

It engages targets from the side rather than traveling straight towards them and has a distinctive spiky appearance.

Strategy and Setup[ | ]

Advantages[ | ]

Spectre 1

Spectre Squadrons attacking an Eagle Frigate

Spectre Squadrons deal even more damage than Bomber Squadrons, travel faster and have the same range. Their increased shield bypass comes in handy during fights involving regenerating shields.

Spectre Squadrons flank their targets. When combined with straight-flying squadrons, enemies find it difficult to defend from all angles. They are great against ships that have a narrow firing arc, such as destroyers and cutters, as they are forced to turn their ships to shoot the squadrons.

Disadvantages[ | ]

Due to their flight pattern, Spectre Squadrons often run into the dual firing arcs of battleships that are flying directly towards or away from them, and are easily taken out.

Spectre Squadrons have a short flight time, this severely limits the damage they can deal since they take at least 5 seconds to reach their targets from maximum range. Elite Squadrons can solve this issue if you have the slots and mass to spare.
