Support Field is a feature that is unique to carriers. Carriers with Support Fields are able to provide passive buffs to friendly ships (debuffs to enemy ships) within a certain distance of the carrier, also known as the Support Range. This range is calculated from the edge of the carrier's hitbox, with the area within highlighted in blue or red, depending on the affiliation of the carrier.

List of Support Fields

Ion Field

The Ion Field increases the shield damage but decreases the health damage of all friendly non-carrier ships within. Unlike the Ion Modulator, this bonus is not restricted to Energy Damage weapons.

Phase Field

The Phase Field, when activated, forces friendly ships with non-zero current Screen Energy, including carriers, into Phase State, and initially sets the fleet's Phase Energy to maximum.

If a friendly ship enters the Phase Field while it is active, it will automatically be affected as described above. If a ship is no longer affected by the Phase Field (either by exiting its range or the field expiring by itself), it is kicked out of Phase State (triggering its Exiting Phase State overdrive). Regardless of the above, the fleet Phase Energy remains synced and drains as usual.

Note: Phase Field only works on your own ships. Your co-op partner's Phasing cycle is completely unaffected by this.

Support Range 11,000 m

Savior Field

The Savior Field, when activated, redirects damage done to any friendly ship (including spawned ships) within the support range to the generator of the support field. If a friendly ship is within range of multiple Savior Fields, the damage is split equally to each generator.

The redirected damage is treated as if it hit the generating ship in the first place. For example, an Ajax would take extra hull damage from redirecting incoming Shield Bypass weaponry to itself, even if the original target does not use shields. Status effects are fully redirected as well.

Note: Damage Reallocation cannot redirect status effects from Support Fields.

Aegis Field

The Aegis Field, just like the Savior Field, redirects damage done to any friendly ship within the support range to the generator of the support field. It is activated as part of the passive bonus from Buckler Prime Shift.

The redirected damage is treated as if it hit the generating ship in the first place. For example, a Buckler would take extra hull damage from redirecting incoming Shield Bypass weaponry to itself, even if the original target does not use shields. Status effects are fully redirected, regardless of damage reallocation.

Note: Damage Reallocation cannot redirect status effects from Support Fields.

Trivia

  • Until the late August 2019 update, Support Range was calculated from the center of the carrier's hitbox.
  • The Phasing revamp during early November 2019 has changed the functionality of the Phase Field.
  • At one point, the Ion Field's shield damage bonus was incorrectly increased to 80%. This was fixed in the late July 2020 update.
  • Originally, the Irradiation Field only did damage to Miner Rebellion Modules. This was extended to other modules in the late November 2020 update.
